Malaysia’s women’s team will take on the Singapore team in the 3rd match of the series on Sunday at Indian Association Ground in Singapore. Malaysia have already sealed the series after having both the first two matches of the series.
The visitors won the first game by 6 wickets before beating the hosts by 75 runs in the second match. They would be looking to register a series whitewash, while Singapore would look to salvage some pride.
In the last game, Malaysia’s women’s team batted first and managed to score a decent-looking total of 145 runs in the first innings. The openers didn’t get the team off to a great start but the likes of Mas Elysa and Elsa Hunter took the team back into the game.
The former played a handy knock of 51 runs in 48 balls, while Elsa Hunter produced an unbeaten knock of 53 runs in 45 balls, including 3 fours. For Singapore, Ada Bhasin returned with figures of 2 for 19 in 4 overs, while Mahesh picked 1 for 23 in 3 overs.
In reply, Singapore were bundled out for just 70 runs on the board. Roshni Ramesh Seth (12), Ada Bhasin (15) and GK Diviya (13) were the only women who could reach double-digit scores. Other than that, all the batters got out on single digits.
For Malaysia, Nur Daniya Syuhada starred with the ball, picking 4 for 14 in 4 overs, while Sasha Azmi returned with figures of 3 for 10 in 4 overs. Besides, the likes of Nur Arianna Natsya and Nik Nur Atiela picked one wicket each.
In the series so far, Elsa Hunter is the highest run-scorer with 53 runs to her name at an average of 53, followed by Mas Elysa with 51 runs to her name. Sasha Azmi picked 5 wickets in 2 matches, while Nur Dania Syuhada picked 4 wickets in 2 games.
