On Friday morning, the Twitter profiles of cricketers such as Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, and Rohit Sharma underwent a significant alteration as all three of them lost the Blue Ticks next to their user names. Twitter has seen a number of changes since Elon Musk took control of the company. Musk had previously stated that a Twitter Blue subscription was the only way to keep the verified Blue Tick Mark on profiles.

It appears that Dhoni, Rohit, and Kohli, among other Twitter users, haven’t done this. Notably, a few weeks ago Twitter announced that it will remove all legacy badges if the user doesn’t pay a monthly subscription fee. In India to use Twitter Blue service on mobile phones users will need to pay around 900 rupees per month. Meanwhile, to use this service on a desktop they will have to pay around 600 rupees.

Indian players including skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni are currently busy with their respective franchises in the ongoing Indian Premier League. MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians will face Punjab Kings in the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday. Notably, RCB after beating Punjab Kings at their home in Mohali will now face Rajasthan Royals on Sunday.

After the conclusion of IPL 2023, Team India will face Australia in the finals of the Test Championship. The final match will be played at the Oval Cricket Ground in London from June 7. This is India’s second consecutive final in the prestigious tournament. Rohit Sharma and the company will look to clinch the first multinational tournament after a decade.
