Ahead of the second Test between India and England, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja have been ruled out of the second Test. During the first Test last week, the latter got injured while getting run out. Ben Stokes ran out the 2013 Champions Trophy winner on Day Four of the game. While taking a run, the left-hander pulled his hamstring. Now, ahead of the second Test in Vizag, both players have been replaced

While Washington Sundar and left-arm spinner Saurabh Kumar have been added to the team, Sarfaraz Khan has gotten his maiden call-up. As per the Indian Cricket Board’s official statement, the medical team is monitoring the progress of Jadeja and Rahul

“Jadeja sustained a hamstring injury during play on Day 4 of the first Test in Hyderabad while Rahul complained of a right quadriceps pain,” the board stated in a media release.

“The Board’s Medical Team is monitoring the progress of the duo and the men’s selection committee have added Sarfaraz Khan, Sourabh Kumar and Washington Sundar to India’s squad,” the release further added.

KL Rahul might make a comeback but Ravindra Jadeja ruled out: Reports

The former India vice-captain, as reported by the Times of India, might return to the team later in the series. Last year, he sustained another injury during the IPL 2023 that ruled him out before Asia Cup 2023. In the Asian tournament, the right-hander returned to the team and was part of the winning team. He did well in the ODI World Cup as well and the team reached the final.

On the other hand, Jadeja might be ruled out of the series. The left-hander has sustained a hamstring injury and it takes at least one and a half weeks minimum to recover from the injury alone. Talking about the series, the Three Lions have taken a lead of 1-0 after winning the first game by 28 runs.
