Pat Cummins returned to terrorise Pakistan batters at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) with his magical deliveries. In the third PAK versus AUS Test, he managed to secure his third straight five-wicket haul. Leading the bowling assault from the start, the captain of Australia played a crucial role in giving the team breakthroughs. After losing the first two Tests, Pakistan decided to bat first at SCG in the hopes of a historic win.
Babar Azam was fooled by Cummins for an LBW as he sent the former Pakistan skipper back to the pavilion. Soon after, the Australian skipper got the wicket of the out-of-form Saud Shakeel to add misery on the visitors.
Despite the early setback, the visitors were able to recover, with Mohammad Rizwan spearheading the effort. But again, it was Cummins who delivered the crucial breakthrough as they dismissed dangerous batsman Rizwan for 88 runs. The final two wickets for Pat were Hasan Ali and Sajid Khan.
Before recording his maiden five-wicket haul at the SCG, Cummins took a fifer in the first and second innings of the second Test. It was his 12th five-wicket haul as well as third in a row. Cummins has averaged grabbing a wicket nearly every 21 deliveries since Christmas, according to the figures. In this series, Cummins has claimed 18 wickets and sent back Babar Azam four times.
Virender Sehwag chooses his best Test innings of David Warner
As Sehwag discussed David Warner’s retirement with Cricbuzz, he recalled one of Warner’s best innings. He talked about how in 2011 Warner’s 180 in Perth won the hosts the crucial match.
The former Team India opener said, “It has to be that 180 he made at the WACA against us in 2011. It was outstanding batting and he’d made the century by the tea-break and also finished the match off single-handedly by then. It was also an innings that summed up David Warner the Test batter, the ability to finish the game off like that and so quickly and what he’s gone on to achieve is very special.”
Fans react as Pat Cummins scalps another fifer to start new year on a high during third Test against Pakistan in Sydney: –

What's even more impressive is that Cummins has been able to maintain his high level of performance in all three formats of the game, and he's become one of the most consistent and reliable fast bowlers in the world.
