In the second game of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League 2023, Barbados Royals’ batter Rahkeem Cornwall was dismissed in a bizarre runout. Cornwall, who is the heaviest active professional cricketer, fell short of the crease while trying to steal a single on the very first ball of the innings. His departure opened the floodgates for BR as they failed to chase 202 runs.

Cornwall, an all-rounder in the West Indies national cricket team, frequently sparks debates among fans due to his weight. Cricket pundits, former players, and experts have provided crucial advice to Rahkeem, urging him to effectively handle his weight. However, despite claims of ‘eating right,’ the all-rounder continues to grapple with this aspect of his career.

Here is the video:

Speaking about his body structure and weight, Cornwall has said that he can’t change it. He also said that he can only improve his skills on that part. “I can’t change my body structure. I can’t say that I’m too tall or too big. Everybody is not going to be short, and everybody is not going to be slim. All I can do is go out there, back myself, and show my skill”, Cornwall said while speaking with the media.

“I spend a lot of time on my fitness”, says Rahkeem Cornwall

Further speaking about his daily fitness routine and diet, Cornwall claimed that he eats right and does consider fitness exercises. He said, “There’s no doubt about it; I am a big guy, but I have to put in work. I don’t really get too bogged down or lazy about it. I spend a lot of time on my fitness. Try to eat properly,” he had said in a chat on ESPNCricinfo.
