India and Zimbabwe will be gearing up for the second ODI of the three-match series on 20th August 2022 at the Harare Sports Club, starting at 12:45 PM (IST). The visitors could not have asked for a better start as they registered a comprehensive 10-wicket win over the Zimbabwe side. India will look to continue on its winning ways to take an invincible lead in the series. Zimbabwe will hope for a better showing in all three departments and would look to pose a tougher challenge against the Men in Blue in the must-win game.
The Indian management will be mighty pleased with their effort in the first ODI. The comeback man Deepak Chahar led the way with the ball and all other bowlers performed their roles with precision. On the batting front, only Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill were required to chase down the modest target of 190. The other batters will look to come to the party when given the opportunity.
India does not have any reasons to tinker with the winning combination and will highly likely field the same XI.
Predicted XI: Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, KL Rahul (c), Deepak Hooda, Sanju Samson (wk), Axar Patel, Deepak Chahar, Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj
The Zimbabwe team simply did not turn up their best foot for the first ODI. The batters did not have any answers to the Indian bowling and were not able to apply themselves. The bowlers were quite inconsistent with their lines and were not supported well by the fielders. The home team, though, will take heart from the resistance shown by skipper Regis Chakabva, Richi Ngarava, and Brad Evans. They would want their top order to fire and provide the team with a solid start in a do-or-die clash.
The management might back the same team to come good in an all-important clash and shall stick to the same XI that played the last game.
Predicted XI: Tadiwanashe Marumani, Innocent Kaia, Sean Williams, Wesley Madhevere, Sikandar Raza, Regis Chakabva (c & wk), Ryan Burl, Luke Jongwe, Brad Evans, Victor Nyauchi, Richard Ngarava
India vs Zimbabwe Match Details
India vs Zimbabwe 2nd ODI
Date – 20th August 2022
Time – 12:45 PM (IST)
Venue – Harare Sports Club, Harare
Broadcast and Live Streaming – Sony Sports Network, Sony Liv
All three matches of this ODI series will be played at the same venue. The surface at Harare has been a batting beauty. The batters will get value for their shots as seen in the previous ODI. Defending a total has been found difficult at this venue. In the last 11 ODIs, the team batting second has chased the total eight times. So, it is highly likely the side winning the toss will be opting to field first.
