Indian star likely to be back before the third Test of India versus England series to be played in Rajkot

In just under two weeks, India will get ready to play England in a five-match Test series. Hyderabad is set to host the first Test as Ben Stokes and his England side will look to dazzle once again.

Rohit Sharma and his side are fretting over injuries suffered by a few key players. Mohammed Shami and Ruturaj Gaikwad are currently recuperating from their fitness issues.

Team India is currently second in the World Test Championship table, with England at number eight. Australia has overtaken India with their win over Pakistan during the Sydney Test.

Indian star likely to be back for Third test versus England –

Ahead of the Test series versus England, Team India have got some amazing news. Ruturaj Gaikwad is likely to be back in time before the third Test begins. Rajkot is set to host the Test match starting on the 15th of February.

Ruturaj Gaikwad had hurt his finger while attempting to take a catch during the 2nd ODI in Gqeberha. The 26-year-old had to withdraw from the following Two-match Test series versus South Africa.

One source who is in the know told the Times of India “Ruturaj is recovering at the Cricket Academy, and should be fit after a week or ten days. He will be available for Maharashtra in the Indian domestic trophy. He is likely to be available for selection after the 2nd Test of the series”. The second Test will be played in Visakhapatnam from the second of February.

It is believed that Bengal opener Abhimanyu Eeswaran will be named in the Indian team. Skipper Rohit Sharma and young Yashasvi Jaiswal will walk out to open for India in Hyderabad.

The selectors are yet to announce the team for the first two Test versus England. There are massive question marks on Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer after their poor outing recently. With Cheteshwar Pujara scoring an unbeaten double ton for Saurashtra there is a chance the veteran could be recalled.

Ajinkya Rahane is yet another batter who could be looked into due to Iyer’s poor form. The Mumbai skipper sat out of the game versus Bihar which saw his post a commanding win.
