‘I have got no chance here’ – Virat Kohli reveals how 35,000 people booed him during England Tour in 2014

Former India captain Virat Kohli has been outstanding throughout his career and has been the biggest nightmare for every bowler in the world. Although Kohli has been through various ups and downs in his career and has been booed for his failures. In a recent interview with his India T20 League franchise Kohli revealed his worst overseas tour i.e. England tour of 2014.

Speaking on the second episode of The Podcast of Bangalore franchise Kohli spoke about various incidents in his personal and professional life. He spoke about his disastrous tour of England back in 2014. Kohli admitted that the failure of the 2014 series in England has always haunted him until he went on to score 149 in the first Test match at Edgbaston in 2018.

“My heart was pumping because all I could think of was the flashes of 2014. I walked in and there were about 35,000 people at the stadium and they all started booing the moment I entered the field. My heart started beating faster. They have this amazing ability to create an environment where you feel like I have got no chance here,” recalled Kohli on the podcast. Notably, Virat Kohli’s adversary during India’s 2014 tour of England was right-arm bowler James Anderson, who dismissed him four times on the tour.

On Saturday, Kohli stated that Mahendra Singh Dhoni was the only person who reached out to him during a difficult time. Kohli, who shares a strong bond with Former India skipper MS Dhoni said, “What is interesting is that throughout this phase apart from Anushka, who has been the biggest source of strength for me because she has been with me throughout this whole time and she has seen me very closely as how have I felt, things that I have gone through, the kind of things that have happened.”
