Former India opener Gautam Gambhir is one of those cricketer who is active in public life. Two-time World Cup winner cricketer is currently a Member of Parliament for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party from East Delhi Loksabha Constituency. Gambhir has been in the headlines for his welfare works around the city.

However, in a recent development, former India leg spinner Rahul Sharma has thanked him for supporting and helping her critically ill Mother-in-law. Sharma took on his social media and said, “Last month was very difficult. My mother-in-law had a brain haemorrhage. She was in critical condition. Thank you Gautam Gambhir Paji & (his PA Gaurav Arora) who helped me in such a difficult time, & provided the best neurologist and hospital in a short time. Surgery has been done successfully.”

He further added that his Mother-in-law is now absolutely fine, “Now she is absolutely fine & thanks to Gangaram hospital & their staff for excellent care. Special thanks to Dr Manish Chugh, your compassionate treatment is miraculous,” he added. Notably, Rahul has represented India in four ODIs and Two T20Is he has been part of various franchises in the Indian Premier League too.

Gautam Gambhir has helped a Pakistani girl too

This is not the first time when Gambhir helped anyone who is in need. Previously he helped a seven-year-old Pakistani girl to get a health visa for better treatment in India. The kid, whose name was Omaima Ali, had a congenital cardiac condition.
Back then, Gambhir said that former Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Yousuf had called his office and informed him about the girl’s health.

In the meantime, Gambhir is serving as the Lucknow Super Giants‘ mentor in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023. His team is in the top half of the table and is looking to make it to the playoffs.
