Mumbai Indians and England pacer Jofra Archer has been ruled out of the rest of the ongoing IPL 2023. He has played only five out of 10 games this season so far. Archer featured for the first time in the cash-rich league after the 2020 season. However, his elbow soreness didn’t allow him to play regularly. After featuring in MI’s first game of the season against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
After this, he missed four back-to-back games due to elbow soreness. In the games against Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings, and Chennai Super Kings recently, the 2019 World Cup winner played but was hammered by these batting lineups. Not to forget, during the time he was out playing XI, he went to Belgium to check with an elbow specialist.
Now, with the 16th season coming to its close in the next three weeks, the Barbados-born, Archer will return to England. He will be monitored closely by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). The board would be hoping for him to feature in the Ashes 2023 at home next month.
Jofra Archer has been replaced by Chris Jordan
Meanwhile, a short while back, the five-time winners signed Chris Jordan as a contingency if something goes wrong with Archer. The former might get to make his debut for the Blue Brigade against his former team, RCB. Jordan has played for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings, and Chennai Super Kings too.
Talking about the upcoming reverse fixture between MI and RCB, both teams have played 10 games each this year. They have won five games each and will be looking to get closer to the playoff spot. For the first time in the history of the tournament, 10 teams after playing more than 10 games are still alive in the playoffs race. Talking about MI and RCB, they would look to win and win handsomely as their Net Run Rate is in negative. Both teams will play each other on May 8 in Mumbai’s Wankhded Stadium.

I said so many times before auctions , Ben stokes and Jofra will never be available for franchise the entire season. Accept it don't spend too much or just don't buy them. There are so many options out there grooom them play them.

I have doubts on this auction money system. Is 8 crores for ome year or for three years. And how will the management pay the money of player played on only 3 games and he is out of form and not included in playing XI. Can you pls throw some light on this

Mi overreacted after 2021 season not considering the reason was slow wickets of chennai. Should have prioritised qdk-boult-chahar, getting core back rather than going for ishan, jofra, david. Now hoping for bumrah-madhwal pair for future ? and with chawla magic here and there ?
