Ahead of the 16th edition of the Indian T20 League, Bangalore organized a star-studded event for their fans. In a special event organized at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore unveiled their jersey for the upcoming season. The team also facilitated two of their greatest players Ab de Villiers and Chris Gayle for their contribution to the franchise.
Although, the stars of the night were De Villiers and Gayle, who entertained fans with their moves. After being inducted into the hall of fame, both were asked will they want to play for the franchise this year. Responding to the question Gayle accepted the offer in no time and said that it will be fun to participate in Indian T20 League. Notably, Gayle has not announced retirement from international cricket yet.
Speaking on the auspicious occasion Gayle said, “Absolutely, I would love that. I am ready.” Interrupting him de Villiers also answered the question and asked fans to support the team. De Villiers said, “I think the team is too good at the moment. We won’t get a chance in the starting XI. We would rather be fans and support the boys to bring the Trophy back home. Ee Saala Cup Namde (This year, the trophy is our’s).”
Bangalore celebrates the legacy of Gayle and De Villiers
Earlier, Bangalore inducted both Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers into the Hall of fame and awarded them with a medal of honour. Meanwhile, skipper Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli launched their new jersey as they onboarded Qatar Airways as main partners. Reportedly, their partnership with the middle-eastern Airlines is the biggest sponsorship deal in the history of the Indian T20 League.
Talking about the tournament, Faf du Plessis led-Bangalore will face Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai in their first home game on April 2. Meanwhile, fans react to AB de Villiers ‘E sala cup namde’ dialogue. A Twitter user said “Ye dialogue hi panauti hai.”
