Star Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah stunned everyone with his impressive comeback for India after a long wait of 11 months. He is playing for Team India in the ongoing first T20I of the three-match series against Ireland. Bumrah started his fiery spell with two wickets in his first over against the hosts.
Notably, Bumrah was ruled out of the plans of Team India after he sustained a back injury in September 2022. Following that, he underwent rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Currently, he is also leading Team India in the absence of some big names including the star all-rounder Hardik Pandya and regular skipper Rohit Sharma.

Talking about the action of the match in the first T20I between Ireland and India, the hosts struggled in the first innings by scoring 139 runs and losing 7 wickets after being asked to bat first by Indian skipper Jasprit Bumrah. Curtis Campher and Barry McCarthy were the only positives for the Irish side as they scored 39 and 51 runs, respectively.
Indian skipper Jasprit Bumrah, debutant pacer Praisdh Krishna, and star leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi scalped two wickets each, while Arshdeep Singh bagged one.
Apart from Jasprit Bumrah’s comeback for India, this match has also attracted the eyeballs for two debutants for the Men in Blue in the T20I series opener against Ireland. The star performer of IPL 2023, Rinku Singh and pacer Praisdh Krishna, who was struggling with an injury, are making their T20I debuts for India.
Rinku was called up to the Indian squad owing to his heroics in the Indian Premier League 2023, in which he scored 474 runs in 14 innings with an impressive average of 59.25, including 4 half-centuries.
