‘Chalo ab RCB 200 banayegi’ – Fans react as Virat Kohli fails with bat against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2023

In a do-or-die match at the Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Rajasthan Royals hosted Royal Challengers Bangalore. In search of two crucial points and to stay alive in the race of playoffs both RCB and RR will need to win all of their remaining games in the ongoing tournament. However, in a virtual knockout game, former RCB skipper Virat Kohli failed to score runs for his team.

While batting first RCB started well as opener Virat Kohli and skipper Faf du Plessis added 50 runs in seven overs. On the last ball of 7th over Youngster KM Asif dismissed Kohli and drew first blood for RR. Kohli in his innings scored 18 runs off 19 balls with the help of a boundary. With this innings, Kohli continued his horror against the Rajasthan Royals and their bowlers.

Notably after his departure Faf du Plessis along with Glen Maxwell added 69 runs for the second wicket before Asif broke the partnership. Maxwell in his innings scored a brilliant half-century off just 30 balls with the help of five boundaries and three sixes. He was dismissed by Sandeep Sharma for 54 runs off 34 balls.

Faf du Plessis completes another half-century in IPL 2023

In the ongoing tournament, RCB skipper Faf du Plessis has been phenomenal with his bat. Continuing his amazing performance RCB skipper smashed his seventh half-century in the ongoing tournament. He scored 55 runs off 44 balls with the help of three boundaries and two sixes. Faf was dismissed by KM Asif who drew two wickets for RR.

After his departure, RCB lost grip on the game as Adam Zampa and Sandeep Sharma clinched three quick wickets. Mahipal Lomror scored 1 run off two balls while wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik scored a two-ball duck. This has been the story of RCB in every game as their middle order has failed in every single game of the season.
