, In the final league game of the IPL 2023 on Sunday, Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) with a margin of 6 wickets, despite Virat Kohli’s valiant effort of 101* runs. Shubman Gill scored a brilliant century, making it three centuries for the day following Cameron Green in the first game and Virat Kohli during the first innings of the second game on Sunday.

The Bangalore-based team lost and dropped to sixth place in the standings, missing out on a crucial playoff spot. Pacer Naveen-ul-Haq of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) uploaded an Instagram story following the game, perhaps making fun of RCB for being eliminated.

Notably, during the second match between RCB and LSG this season, Kohli and Naveen got into a furious argument. The antagonism continued after that, as the fast bowler’s iconic “sweet mangoes” Instagram story during Bangalore’s match versus Mumbai Indians (MI) fanned the flames.

It’s important to note that when LSG played Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Saturday at the Eden Gardens, Naveen was also jeered by shouts supporting Kohli. After Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s wicket, he retaliated by putting a finger to his lips and requesting that the audience be quiet.

Mumbai Indians have reached the Playoffs for IPL 2023

MI benefited from RCB’s loss to the defending champions, GT, because they maintained their fourth-place ranking in the points standings. If Bangalore had defeated Gujarat, Mumbai would not have advanced to the playoffs.

At the same time, Lucknow Super Giants is ranked third, with Gujarat Giants and Chennai Super Kings taking the top two spots in the standings. Then on Tuesday, May 23, Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2023 will take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai between GT and CSK. On Wednesday, May 24, LSG and MI will square off in the Eliminator at the same location.

On Friday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the winner of the Eliminator will compete against the loser of Qualifier 1. Finally, on Sunday, Ahmedabad will host the competition’s final.

Here’s how fans reacted to Naveen-ul-Haq’s Instagram story:
