The Indian team was eliminated from the 20-20 World Cup 2022 after losing to England in the semi-finals. Many people were surprised because the Men in Blue were considered the favourites to win the tournament this time. The team had a strong start in the Super 12 Stages of the tournament, but that did not translate in the knockout stages.

After their elimination, many started pointing fingers at the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma for his poor run in the competition. The 35-year-old could only manage 116 runs at an average of just over 19 in six games. He scored one half-century in the tournament but always looked rusty.

On the other hand, fans who were outraged by India’s defeat questioned Rohit’s captaincy skills. The fact that Yuzvendra Chahal did not play a single game and that Rishabh Pant played only at the back end of the event puzzled the fans.

However, Rohit Sharma is now receiving a lot of love and support from fans after many chastised him for India’s eviction. Rohit Sharma was trending on Twitter a day after India’s loss to England as fans took to the micro-blogging site to express their support for the Indian Captain.

Captain @ImRo45 we all know that u are also equally upset with the performance as we all are in current but true cricket fans are with u always now do your head high and give us the joy of test championship and 50 over wc in your era winning the trophy,” a fan wrote.

“One of the most Trolled player in the history of Cricket. This is a world where a man ignores success and destroys him by pointing only to failure. Being Rohit Sharma is Difficult,” another fan wrote.

Earlier, many experts suggested that Rohit Sharma has taken many breaks in the last year. A captain needs to spend as much time as possible with his team, siad the experts.
