Amid the ongoing Asia Cup, former India batter Gautam Gambhir created a buzz on social media. With a new haircut, Gambhir was captured reporting from Sri Lanka during the second game of the tournament. In his new look, Gambhir created a buzz among fans, as some found it cool while others trolled him and called it a ‘Chhapri’ hairstyle.
It’s worth noting that Gautam Gambhir is currently focusing on his non-cricket career. Gambhir, who is a member of parliament from the East Delhi Lok Sabha area, is currently looking forward to the next assembly elections. He has parted ways with the Lucknow Super Giants to focus on his political career. However, currently, he is doing commentary for the official broadcasters of the Asia Cup, i.e., Star Sports.
Gambhir is reportedly looking to continue his broadcasting journey with Star Sports in the coming months. He will be seen on the panel for the ongoing Asia Cup and the upcoming One Day World Cup. After these tournaments, Gambhir is likely to shift his focus to the Lok Sabha elections, which are due in March–April 2024.
Gautam Gambhir is set to organize the East Delhi Premier League
After the successful completion of East Delhi Premier League season 1, cricketer-turned-politician and BJP MP Gautam Gambhir is set to come with its second season. The prize money for the T20 league will be INR 1 crore. The EDPL season 2 will start a week after the finals of the ODI World Cup on November 25. The tournament will end with a finale on December 9.
Ten teams from all ten assembly constituencies in East Delhi will be participating in the tournament. The 10 teams are Gandhi Nagar Gladiators, Krishna Nagar Royals, Patparganj Panthers, Okhla Tigers, Shahdara Avengers, Vishwas Nagar Devils, Kondli Kings, Jangpura Lions, Laxmi Nagar Warriors, and Trilokpuri Stars.
