Fans awestruck by James Anderson's ripper to dismiss Mohammad Rizwan in second Test

England and Pakistan are facing off in the second Test match of the three-match series that started on December 9, Friday and Day 3 of the match, on Sunday, turned in the Three Lions’ favour given that their pacers were absolutely rattling the Pakistani top-order. To add more, chasing a target of 355, the Babar Azam-led team got off to a confident start and eventually, the openers Mohammad Rizwan and Abdullah Shafique put on a 50-run stand for the first wicket.

While many hoped for the openers to carry on with the innings, England’s veteran pacer James Anderson, broke the momentum and produced the first wicket for the Ben Stokes-led team. As far as the delivery is concerned, it was a good length delivery and Rizwan was all over the ball, unable to read it, eventually missing it to let the ball crash onto the stumps. Much to the delight of the English fans, it was Anderson’s first over in the innings and he produced the much-needed breakthrough for his team.

To add more, England put on 281 runs in their first innings and it was Abrar Ahmed who outclassed on his debut for Pakistan with a seven-for to his name. Much to the dreariness of the Pakistani fans, Babar and his men crumbled for 202 runs in reply, in their initial innings.

England, known for his ‘Bazzball’ style of play, eventually scored 275 runs in their second innings and set Pakistan a target of 355 to clinch the win in the second Test. Although the Pakistani batters are known for their vulnerability against the mighty Three Lions pacers, many opined that the Pakistani camp might chase it down with ease.

However, Imam-ul-Haq was taken off the field for a scan and it turned out to be a disastrous start for the team. It was Rizwan and Shafique who opened the innings for the team on Day 3 and eventually good off to a good start until Anderson spoiled the party. At tea, Pakistan remained at 136/3 with Shaud Shakeel unbeaten at 32 and Imam-ul-Haq, who joined the party after the scan, unbeaten at 25.

As things stand, let us take a look at a few Twitter reactions to Anderson’s stunning delivery:
