However, recently, a video of Williamson performing his fitness regime including one involving leg exercises. In the video, the WTC 2021 winning skipper said that he has broken down his fitness regimes week by week. He added that there is no timeline put in by him as he never had a long-term injury before. Notably, Kane sustained an elbow injury every now and then

“I’m just trying to keep it week-to-week at the moment,” Williamson said.

“I’m making progress, but I’m not putting a timeline on anything. I haven’t had such a long-term injury before but talking to other people that have, the journey is a bit of a long one so if you look too far ahead it can probably become a little bit daunting.

The former New Zealand U19 skipper further added that the little wins during the entire process is nice. The former Test captain also mentioned that he is mixing his gym and physio work.

“Whereas, one week at a time, ticking off those small markers, those little wins that are nice to experience. But also knowing that the journey won’t be completely smooth and you have a few setbacks along the way that you have to navigate.”
