ODI World Cup 2023

‘Aakhir wo shubh ghari aa hi gai’ – Fans react as reports unveil tentative dates of World Cup ticket release

World Cup

As the ODI World Cup 2023 approaches, the excitement and wait for tickets among fans have reached their highest point. However, in the latest news report, it has been revealed that the Indian Cricket Board, along with the Apex Cricket Council, has finally completed all the necessary arrangements to release the tickets.

According to reports, the Indian Cricket Board is set to release tickets next week. Online ticket booking is likely to start on August 10. Fans can book their tickets on top platforms like Patym Insider and BookMyShow. It’s worth noting that tickets for some key matches will only be available through BookMyShow. It includes the massive India vs. Pakistan clash and the final match.

Meanwhile, Patym will have exclusive tickets for two semi-final games. It will be organised at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and Eden Gardens in Kolkata, depending on the qualifying teams. Earlier this week, following a meeting with state associations in New Delhi, Board Secretary Jay Shah announced that ticket sales for the upcoming event will commence once the entire process has been duly followed. He urged each state body to submit their final ticket prices to the Indian Board by July 31, ensuring a streamlined and organised ticketing process.

Will the Indian Cricket Board change the schedule for the World Cup?

It’s worth noting that earlier it was speculated that the Indian Cricket Board was looking to change the dates for some marquee cricket matches considering security issues. One of the most talked-about matches is India vs. Pakistan at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 15. This game might be scheduled for the 14th, considering the clash of Navratri dates with the marquee match.

However, Jay Shah said that the board will change dates as some boards have requested to do so. It has nothing to do with security arrangements, as the board can handle security issues. Notably, the marquee event is set to be played from October 5 to November 19. The board has finalised twelve venues to host matches, including warm-up games.
