After a thrilling finish in the first One-Day International on Friday, India and West Indies will lock horns again in the second ODI on 24th July 2022. India managed to snatch victory from the West Indies in a close encounter on Friday as they won the match by just three runs taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI Series.
India
Captain Shikhar Dhawan will be happy with the way the young team India managed to hold their nerves and got a win under their belt in a nail-biting first match. The top 3 batters Dhawan, Shubhman Gill and Shreyas Iyer had set up the platform nicely for the middle order and lower order to propel the total beyond 350. But the Indian batters faltered in the final fifteen overs of the innings and completely got off-track as they just managed to cross 300.
The Indian bowlers chipped in with wickets at regular intervals but seamer Prasidh Krishna and spinner Axar Patel looked lacklustre throughout the innings. The Indian bowlers also gave 21 extras which is unacceptable in ODI cricket. The team will look to improve on that front come the second game.

The West Indies bowlers were all over the place during the first innings of the match as they gave too many boundary balls to the Indian batters. The spin duo of Gudakeish Motie and Akeal Hosein bowled brilliantly in the middle overs giving away 105 runs in 20 overs and picking up three wickets between them.
On the batting front, West Indies improved significantly from their last ODI series against Bangladesh as they played their entire quota of 50 overs and almost managed to pull off the chase losing the game by just three runs. West Indies will look to improve on their new ball bowling and will also want a set batter to bat through the innings and finish the game for the team.
