The ACC Women’s T20 League has returned after a long nine-year period. With eight games done, the tournament is shaping up to be an exciting spectacle for the fans and players alike. UAE and Nepal occupy the top of their respective groups and Singapore and Bhutan linger at the bottom.
In this article, we would be looking at the two matches on 19th June namely Hong Kong vs Bahrain and Oman vs Qatar, and their details.
Team News:
Hong Kong Women: In the first game, the Bahrain Women team is playing the Hong Kong Women team from Group B. Hong Kong won its inaugural match against Bhutan by 14 runs and now sits at the second position in the group. They were able to make 102/8 against the Bhutan team and managed to get them out for 88/7 with good bowling. Mariko Hill made 40(36) and captain Kary Chan came up with 15 off 14. Their bowlers Betty Chan and Mariko Hill took two wickets each to stop the Bhutan team.

Bahrain Women: Bahrain’s first match against Kuwait Women was abandoned and they were awarded one point each for the game. They sit third in Group B now. They got off to a good start in the game with Tharanga Gajanayake with 15(19) and Deepika Rasangika with 10(10). But since the game was abandoned, their team is yet to be tested.

Oman Women: The other match is between Oman Women and Qatar Women from Group A. Oman Women are currently sitting at the third spot with one point from their first match. While Qatar are fourth having lost their first match. Oman got off to a bad start in their abandoned match having lost three wickets at 26 runs. They would be looking to bat better as none of their top-order players crossed the two-digit mark in their batting.

Qatar Women: Qatar Women lost their first match to the hosts Malaysia by 10 wickets. Having made just 69 runs, the host team was able to achieve the target in 12.3 overs itself. The team would be looking to give a better performance against Oman if they’re to have any chance of a win.
