It’s worth noting that this year almost every member of the Indian squad has performed exceptionally. From Skipper Rohit Sharma to Ravichandran Ashwin, everyone has performed. So, after the completion of the league stage, here is our performance analysis of all 16 (including Hardik Pandya) players.

1. Rohit Sharma, 503 runs in 9 innings 

India skipper Rohit Sharma has been phenomenal with the bat in the ongoing tournament. He is the second-highest run scorer for India, with 503 runs in nine innings. The best thing about his batting has been his amazing strike rate. He has scored with a hefty strike rate of 121.50, which helped the team get good starts.

2. Shubman Gill, 270 runs in 7 innings 

Alongside his skipper, Young Shubman Gill has also performed exceptionally. Despite missing the first two games due to dengue, Gill has scored 270 runs in seven innings at an average of 38.57 and a strike rate of 104.65.

3. Virat Kohli, 594 runs in 9 innings

Star India batter Virat Kohli is the highest run scorer in the ongoing tournament. He has scored 594 runs with the help of two centuries and five half-centuries in nine innings. His anchor innings have helped India win some crucial games against Australia and New Zealand.

4. Shreyas Iyer, 421 runs in nine innings

Playing in middle order, Iyer didn’t have a great start. However, in the last three league games, he has scored 287 runs, including a century and two half-centuries. Overall, in the ongoing tournament, he has scored 421 runs at an average of 70.17.

5. KL Rahul, 347 runs in 8 innings 

KL Rahul has been phenomenal in the middle order. His amazing batting performance against Australia helped India clinch a victory from the mouth of a loss. Overall, he has scored 347 runs at an average of 69.40, including a century and a half.

6. Suryakumar Yadav, 87 runs in 5 innings 

Suryakumar Yadav has been one of the most controversial selections in India’s World Cup squad. Considering his past records, no one could have expected him on the team. However, proving everyone wrong, Surya has played his role brilliantly. He has scored 87 runs in five innings.

7. Ishan Kishan, 47 runs in 2 innings 

In the absence of opener Shubman Gill, Kishan has been tasked with opening the innings along with skipper Rohit Sharma. In two matches, he has scored 47 runs, including a duck, against Australia.

8. Hardik Pandya, 5 wickets in 4 innings 

Star India all-rounder Hardik Pandya had a great time in the tournament. He played four games in the tournament and took five wickets. Unfortunately, he missed the remaining games due to an injury.

9. Shardul Thakur, 3 wickets in 2 innings 

Another pace allrounder, Shardul Thakur, also played two games in the tournament. He took three wickets in those games.

10. Ravindra Jadeja, 111 runs & 16 wickets in 9 games 

Allrounder Ravindra Jadeja has been phenomenal in the ongoing tournament. With the bat, he has scored 111 runs in four innings at an average of 55.50. While with the ball, he has taken 16 wickets in nine innings.

11. Ravichandran Ashwin, 1 wicket in 1 match 

Ace India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has played just one game in the league stage. He faced Australia in the first league game and took a wicket too.

12. Kuldeep Yadav, 14 wickets in 9 innings 

Star India spinner Kuldeep Yadav has been India’s best spinner in the tournament. He has taken 14 wickets in nine games, with a best performance of 2/24 against England.

13. Jasprit Bumrah, 17 wickets in 9 innings 
Jasprit Bumrah has led the bowling unit in the entire tournament. He has bowled the most dot balls in the ongoing tournament. In nine games, he has taken 17 wickets with an economy rate of 3.65.

14. Mohammad Siraj, 12 wickets in 9 innings 
In initial games, Mohammad Siraj was struggling to make his presence felt. However, in the second half of the league games, he has been phenomenal with the ball. He has claimed 12 wickets in nine innings.

15. Mohammed Shami, 16 wickets in 5 innings 
After missing the first four games, Mohammed Shami broke absolute carnage in the opposition batting lineup. In five games, he became the leading wicket-taker for India with 16 wickets at a strike rate of 12.

16. Prasidh Krishna
Young pacer Prasidh Krishna has been named as Hardik Pandya’s replacement in the squad. However, he has yet to play a game in the ongoing tournament.
