The match against Andhra Pradesh at the JSCA stadium in Ranchi, Punjab, set a new record for the highest score by an Indian T20 team. Spearheaded by Abhishek Sharma’s remarkable 112 off 51 balls, Punjab amassed a formidable total of 275 for 6 in 20 overs.

This achievement surpassed the previous record of 263 set by the IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) against Pune Warriors India in 2013. Moreover, the team not only secured the highest score record but also established a new record for the most sixes hit by an Indian T20 team. They smashed a total of 22 sixes during their innings, surpassing RCB’s 21 from the 2013 game.

Abhishek Sharma’s exceptional performance included a stunning display of nine fours and nine sixes en route to his remarkable century. Additionally, wicketkeeper batter Anmolpreet Singh contributed significantly with his explosive 87 off 26 balls, striking nine sixes during his innings. Their amazing batting performance led Punjab to an outstanding total.

Punjab bounced back after a close defeat

Andhra Pradesh’s Harisankar Reddy faced a relentless onslaught from the Punjab batters. The team fell 37 runs short in their pursuit of 211.
