IND vs NZ, 2nd ODI, 2023: 'Kya karu mai itne bilaterals win ka ' - Fans react as India win series after crushing New Zealand

India and New Zealand competed against each other in the second ODI of the three-match series on January 21, Saturday and the Rohit Sharma-led team won the game with 8 wickets to spare chasing a target of 109. To add more, the Kiwi batters, after being forced to bat first, got off to a shaky start losing half of their men for just 15 runs.

The Men in Blue pacers rattled the top order with Mohammed Shami picking up a three-for to his name, while Washington Sundar and Hardik Pandya picked up a two-for on the day. Glen Phillips turned out to be the top-scorer for the Black Caps with his great-hearted 36 although it was not enough for the team.

India, after winning the first ODI by 12 runs, were brimming with confidence and the Men in Blue crushed the Kiwi batters, as they carried on with the form from the initial game played on Wednesday. However, it remains to be seen if the Indian pacers and spinners would carry on with the form in the final clash as well.

A brilliant day to be honest: Hardik Pandya

As far as the chase is concerned, it was the skipper Rohit who stood up for the team with his well-made fifty, although he made his way back to the dressing room off the Black Caps pacer Henry Shipley’s delivery soon after. The likes of Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill joined hands to take the team home past the scoreboard.

“A brilliant day to be honest, we used the wicket rightly and everything went well for us. That wasn’t bad at all (on the return catch), my body is feeling better with every match, it’s coming on nicely and timely as well. We hit the right areas, kept testing the batters,” Pandya was quoted as saying after the first innings.

“One of those days when the edges went to the fielders and we grabbed the catches. This isn’t a 108-run wicket, but we took all our chances, Let the batters decide on how to bat, at the end of the day, it’s their call on how to chase this down,” he added.
