Lucknow and Delhi locked horns in the 15th game of the Indian T20 League at the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Mumbai. Both teams came off different results in their respective games. Lucknow had won against Hyderabad while Delhi had lost to Gujarat. Without any surprises, the KL Rahul-led side won the toss and elected to bowl first. They had a poor start with the ball as they had no answer to Prithvi Shaw’s explosive batting.
Shaw scored an explosive 61 off 34 including nine fours and two sixes before he got out to Krishnappa Gowtham in the eighth over of the innings. Next over, Warner (4) got out to Ravi Bishnoi. This proved to be the turning point of the innings as they could only get 99 runs in 15 overs, having lost the wicket of Rovman Powell (3 off 10) to Bishnoi.
In the last five overs, the skipper Rishabh Pant (39*) and Sarfaraz Khan (36*) added 50 runs and took the team to 149/3. In reply, the Men in Mint Green started well as openers Quinton de Kock and Rahul stitched a partnership of 73 runs. The partnership ended with the latter’s wicket to Kuldeep Yadav with the scorecard reading 73 runs.
In came Evin Lewis (five off 12) and struggled at the crease before he got out to Lalit Yadav. De Kock (80 off 52) took the team to 122 in 16 overs before he was caught by Sarfaraz Khan. However, the wicket meant that the likes of Deepak Hood and Krunal Pandya struggled to score quickly as the team was put in a tricky position at 131/3, needing 19 runs off 12 balls. The game changed in the favour of the ITL debutants when they scored 14 runs in the penultimate over. The team lost the wicket of Hooda (11) to Shardul Thakur in the first ball of the last over but Ayush Badoni’s 10 off 3 helped the team win the game by six wickets and two balls to spare.

Another excellent win for Lucknow Super Giants. Bowlers restricted Delhi to 149 despite s blazing half century by Prithvi Shaw, and their batsmen chased down the target with a degree of ease, de Kick doing the Star with a superb knock. LSG looking the team to beat this IPL

Looked close in the end but that was artificial excitement more than anything. Lucknow had enough depth in their reserves.
Delhi lack meat in their middle and lower-middle order #DCvsLSG #IPL2022 @LucknowIPL @DelhiCapitals— Vikrant Gupta (@vikrantgupta73) April 7, 2022
A low scoring thriller is what was missing this season and #DCvsLSG showed us that #IPL2022 is going to throw up quite a few of those!
Minor errors from #DC cost them big time, they need Nortje to fire!
What a finish from young Badoni though 👌🽗 Abhinav mukund (@mukundabhinav) April 7, 2022
What a balanced outfit @LucknowIPL look like! Definitely got the bargain of the season in Ravi Bishnoi and the find of the season in Ayush Badoni! #IPL2022 #LSGvsDC #TATAIPL

19*(9) vs CSK and 10*(3) vs DC – both while chasing in #IPL2022 – he is consistently finishing the game at the age of 22. Take a bow, Badoni. pic.twitter.com/8UsGzNYZW4

#AyushBadoni was asked to clear 3 levels of trials by @DelhiCapitals scouts. Last one during the 3rd wave in Mumbai. He smacked 50 in less than 20 balls in each of them. Then they didn't even bid.
The fist pump after killing the game said it all. #LSGvsDC #IPL2022— Arani Basu (@AraniBasuTOI) April 7, 2022
22 year Ayush Badoni has faced different situations in his first 4 matches: scored 54 v GT when his team was 29/4, scored 19* off 9 v CSK in a tight run chased, hit 19 off 12 v SRH as LSG finished with 169. Tonight he hit 10 off 3 v DC showing his class in a run chase #DCvsLSG

Despite the failure of main bowler, Rishabh took the game to very last over.
After 2 fours he said "Wicket lega Kully tu" and next ball it's a wicket. He is brilliant man brilliant captain and deserves every kind of appreciation today.
Very proud of you Rishabh @RishabhPant17— Bitstoin (@bigstoin) April 7, 2022
