Rafael Nadal accidently tags himself as Laver Cup in a picture featuring the Big four of Tennis World

Federer will be playing his final ATP Tour match on Friday in Laver Cup 2022.

The Laver Cup 2022 is all set to begin today. Tennis fans usually get to see Rafa Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, and Andy Murray play against each other at Grand Slams but the ‘big four’ of the Tennis world are set to play together in the same team for the first time at the Laver Cup.

As the tournament gets underway today, Tennis ace Rafael Nadal shared a photograph of him practising with the other three legends of the sport, Djokovic, Federer and Murray. He captioned the post ‘Nice Little Practice’ and shared it with his followers on Instagram. However, the Tennis great tagged Laver Cup in his place in the photo.

Laver Cup is named after Australian great Rod Laver. The three-day team event features six of Europe’s top players going against six from the rest of the world. Among all the legends that are participating in the star-studded tournament, Roger Federer will hog the most limelight as the star player has announced his retirement after the tournament.

Federer will be playing his final ATP Tour match on Friday in Laver Cup 2022. He will be teaming up with his long-time tennis rival and friend Rafael Nadal. Owner of 20 Grand Slam titles Federer and owner of a men’s-record 22 major championships Nadal will pair up for Team Europe against the Team World duo of Frances Tiafoe and Jack Sock.

Nadal and Federer have met 40 times over the course of their careers including nine grand slam finals and also played together at the 2017 Laver Cup. Federer is placed at the third position in terms of the total number of grand slam victories behind his main rivals Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. Despite their intense encounters on the court, both the legends continued to share a healthy friendship and were always seen enjoying each other’s successes.

Nadal, Djokovic, Federer and Murray have been the indomitable force in the Tennis world over the last two decades. They have won 66 Grand slam titles among them. Nadal holds the record for men’s Grand Slam Titles with 22 victories to his name, while Djokovic is second on the list with 21 victories to his name.
