The greatest of cricket players have on many occasions, going through a bad patch of form that almost ended their career. In this article, we will look at some of the worst patches of form great cricketers have gone through.

Rickey Pointing is arguably Australia’s best players ever. He was a superstar quite early in his cricketing career. In the 2000/01 season, however, he went through a bad patch of form that stopped his rise to the top. After making 92 against West Indies at Adelaide, the right-hand batter could not produce a good knock in the next months. He managed just one fifty in the next 10 innings.
Worse came later in the 2001 India tour when Ponting could only manage a best of 11 in five innings, of which three were ducks. It was in the Ashes of 2001 that the batter regained his touch and made 144 ending a poor run of form that extended one year.
His ODI form was also bad having made 510 runs in 14 matches with just one century in the whole year.
