The South African team’s elimination from the tournament surprised everyone because they were considered the tournament’s favourites. They will, however, look back on the tournament with fond memories. The most encouraging aspect of the tournament was Anrich Nortje’s performance.
Nortje has taken the most wickets in the Super 12 Stages so far, with 11 in five matches. His best figures came against Bangladesh, where he had 10/4 in 3.3 overs. He also was very economical throughout the event, conceding runs at a rate of 5.37.
