The ongoing IPL 2023 final between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings has been interrupted by rain. Not to forget, the game was postponed after the relentless rain didn’t let the game happen on May 28. It started before the toss and kept pelting till late in the night. This led to the umpires insisting on shifting the game to May 29 as the ground wasn’t fit for even a five-over game.

Meanwhile, the ongoing final has been interrupted. This happened at the start of the second innings. At the time of writing, the rain has stopped and the game might start soon. However, before this, another inspection will take place. At 10:30 PM, the first inspection took place and more improvements were done. While the ground was being dried, the groundsmen were seen drying up a part with sponge.

This has left the fans unimpressed.

Chennai Super Kings need 170 runs to win IPL 2023

Meanwhile, at the toss, CSK won the toss and elected to bowl first. However, the decision proved wrong as Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha provided an explosive start with 67 runs in seven overs. Notably, Deepak Chahar dropped Gill’s catch in the second over. The latter scored 39 off 20 balls before being stumped by MS Dhoni.

On the other hand, Saha scored 54 off 39 balls and put together 64 runs with Sai Sudarshan. The former got out to Chahar while Sudarshan (96) missed out on his maiden IPL hundred. With skipper Hardik Pandya playing a cameo, the team reached 214/4. After CSK scored four runs in three balls, the game was interrupted by rain.

At the time of writing, GT head coach Ashish Nehra, and Pandya are having a heated argument with the match officials. At the time of writing, the game has been reduced to 15 overs a side and the chasing side needed to get 170 runs. They have 10 wickets in hand at the time.
