‘Ye series ki jagah WC jeet lete’ – Fans react as India seal 4-1 series win over Australia in Bangalore

Australia would rue their chances not only in this game but throughout the series.

India vs Australia

Australia won the toss once again and sent India to bat first for the fourth time this series. Yashasvi Jaiswal appeared dangerous earlier, but he fell while attempting to pull, and wickets continued to fall after that. India was in trouble after Suryakumar Yadav and Rinku Singh’s mistakes. But Jitesh as well as Shreyas held their ground till Axar emerged and delivered a brilliant knock.

Shreyas picked the correct ball to pursue rather than blasting sixers against the spinners for fun. After realising the pitch was sluggish, the Australians used an abundance of cutters.

India had performed admirably, reaching 160 on a sluggish, sloppy surface. 26 off the final two overs and 45 off the final four overs. At the end of the innings, Shreyas Iyer opened up. All eyes will be on the spinners as they have been dominant for Team India.

Indian bowlers clinch epic series win

Travis Head responded without any hesitation. With three straight boundaries to start the chase, he placed pressure on the Indian bowlers. Australia raced off to a scorching start, scoring 40 runs from the first four overs, forcing SKY to resort to spin even though Josh Philippe was lost cheaply.

Head hit Ravi Bishnoi for a six with his fourth delivery, putting him beyond deep midwicket. However, the wristspinner castled the dangerman and exacted his revenge on his very next ball. As the spinners pressed the brakes and bowled six overs in a row, the scoring rate fell precipitously.

Axar concluded a successful day with a wicket in his penultimate over, breaking the 47-run partnership. Ben McDermott reached his fifty by hitting a six, but in the same over, he was bowled out for a low ball. In his outstanding 17th over, Mukesh Kumar took two wickets in a row. However, Matthew Wade’s hat-trick of fours versus Avesh Khan maintained his team in the lead.

In the last over, the visitors needed to score ten. The last over’s first ball should have ended up being a wide, but it wasn’t. Later on, Wade was taken out by Arshdeep Singh. After giving up 37 runs in his first three overs, the pacer let up just three runs in the last over to win the match.
