After English star Jason Roy, wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler has been offered a multi-million-pound contract by the Rajasthan Royals. As per the latest news report, Buttler has been approached for a three- to four-year full-time deal. According to the proposed deal, Buttler will have to play for RR in different leagues throughout the year, while the franchise will decide his participation in national duties.
Notably, Jos Buttler has a fantastic track record for the Rajasthan Royals and has been one of their key performers in recent years. In 96 games, he has scored 3223 runs, including five centuries. His best season came in IPL 2022, when he won the orange cap after scoring 863 runs in a single season, including four centuries.
It’s worth noting that a few months ago, Jason Roy opted out of his central contract offered by the England and Wales Cricket Board. This came after Major Cricket League franchise Los Angeles Knight Riders offered him a multi-million-pound contract. It’s worth noting that LSKR is a sister franchise of the IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders, and Roy is part of KKR too.
Moeen Ali refutes the multi-million-pound deal
Earlier, reports surfaced that star English spinner Moeen Ali had refused a multi-million-pound deal. Moeen had been offered a multi-franchise contract by MLC’s franchise, the Texas Super Kings. However, he refused to relinquish his existing deal with ECB, but the franchise hopes he will join them in the 2024 MLC season. Moeen Ali will play in the SA20, MLC, and IPL for all three Super Kings franchises, including the Chennai Super Kings and Joburg Super Kings, as part of the agreement.
It is uncertain whether a player would be able to carry both a multi-year franchise contract and an England central contract. The Daily Mail claimed earlier this year that Jofra Archer was in talks with the Mumbai Indians about a deal that would require his team to give him permission to play for England. Notably, other England players who could be pursued for longer-term contracts are Sam Curran, Liam Livingstone (both Punjab Kings), and Jason Roy (Kolkata Knight Riders).

Is it the one where England needs permission for him to play? If it is he def won’t sign and I won’t trust Mufa he’s the same person who said Buttler will miss a week of IPL when he got small injury.

ICC and other individual country boards needs to step in. International cricket should be kept on priority. The cricket leagues have already diluted the essence of international cricket. No further dilution is needed
