Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson has been part of the team since 2013. 10 years ago, he made his IPL debut. A year before that, Samson was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders, who won their maiden title. Meanwhile, the Kerala player only played for Delhi Capitals when the Royals were suspended. When the franchise made its comeback alongside Chennai Super Kings, the 2008 winners didn’t lose the opportunity to get him back.

In 2021, Samson replaced Steve Smith as the captain ahead of the tournament. Even though the team’s performance didn’t improve much that year, they reached the finals in 2022, losing to debutants Gujarat Titans. Meanwhile, in an interview, RR trained revealed that he asked Samson to leave the team in 2022. However, as claimed by the former, the wicketkeeper batter denied that idea.

“I told Sanju Samson to join some big teams in IPL after 2021 but he replied that I want to make Rajasthan Royals a big team, he further told that let’s bring big players like Ashwin, Chahal, Prasidh into the team. He has the vision”

Meanwhile, the fans are divided on the scenario.

Sanju Samson spends two crores of his IPL salary to help the next generation: RR Trainer

The trainer added that as Sanju gets 15 crores from every IPL season, he spends two crores to help the Indian domestic players and children. The former further added that more than Sanju, those people want Sanju to do well.

“Sanju Samson gets around 15 crores, minimum 2 crores he helps domestic players & children who have lots of talent, more than Sanju the player, everyone wants Sanju the human to be successful and that is why he has lots of support,” the trainer said to Sports Vikatan.
