‘Ye Living-stone ne dead match ko live kr diya’ – Fans react as DC beat PBKS in last over thriller at Dharamshala in IPL 2023
Chasing 200+, PBKS got a shaky start as skipper Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed for a duck by veteran pacer Ishant Sharma.
In the 64th match of Indian Premier League 2023, Delhi Capitals beat Punjab Kings by 15 runs at the HPCA cricket stadium in Dharamshala. Despite heroics from Lian Livingston PBKS failed to clinch a last-over thriller as Ishant Sharma defended 33 runs in the last over. Notably, Rilee Rossouw scored a brilliant half-century for DC to post a massive total of 213/2 in 20 overs.
Earlier, after winning the toss, PBKS skipper Shikhar Dhawan opted to bowl first. His decision didn’t go well with the team as DC opener Prithvi Shaw along with skipper David Warner added 94 runs for the first wicket. Warner in his innings scored 46 runs off 31 balls with the help of five boundaries and two sixes. After his departure, Shaw along with Rilee Rossouw added 54 runs for the second wicket.
Shaw in his comeback innings scored a magnificent half-century as he smacked 54 runs off 38 balls with the help of seven boundaries and a six. Both Shaw and Warner were dismissed by Sam Curran. However, their departure only helped DC as Rossouw went on to the beast mode.
The South African in his innings scored unbeaten 82 runs off 37 balls with the help of six boundaries and as many sixes. He was well supported by Phil Salt who scored 26 runs off 14 balls with the help of two boundaries and as many sixes. Both of them added 65 runs off just 30 balls for the third wicket. Their innings helped DC to post a massive total of 213/2 in 20 overs.
Livingstone failed to pull off an amazing victory
Chasing 200+ PBKS got a shaky start as skipper Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed for a duck by veteran pacer Ishant Sharma. After his departure opener, Prabhsimran Singh along with Atharva Taide added 50 runs for the second wicket. Prabhsimran scored 22 runs off 19 balls with the help of four boundaries before getting dismissed by Axar Patel.
After that Taide along with Liam Livingston added 78 runs for the third wicket. Taide in a tactical move retired out and that went against PBKS itself. After his departure, Jitesh Sharma, Shahrukh Khan, Sam Curran, and Harpreet Brar got out in cheap. In the last over PBKS needed 33 runs. Livingston scored 17 runs but eventually got dismissed by Ishant Sharma. Livingston scored 94 runs off 48 balls with the help of five boundaries and nine sixes. Ishant and Anric Nortje clinched two wickets for DC while Khaleel Ahmed and Axar Patel clinched a wicket each.

I don't understand the 3rd umpire decision here, a similar ball has been denied no ball in SRH match saying that he crouched.

Is this the most undeserved win in IPL history? I mean watching DC's bowling and fielding felt like they were not interested in game and this tells how incompatible and inconvenient a team can become after getting disqualified.
