Following their three straight losses in the ODI World Cup 2023, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is urging the cricket community and supporters to keep up their support for skipper Babar Azam and the whole Pakistan cricket squad.

The board administration acknowledged the feelings and thoughts of cricket fans in a press release on Thursday in the wake of the team’s recent losses. Though the team has suffered some losses, the board is hopeful that they will bounce back and perform well in the four critical remaining round-robin matches.

The media’s criticism of team management and captain Babar Azam was also discussed in the press release. The board’s position is that wins and losses are just a part of the game, mirroring the viewpoint of former cricket players. Inzamam-ul-Haq, the chief selector, and captain Babar Azam were given latitude and assistance in assembling the team for the 2023 ICC World Cup.

The board stated that, going forward, it will base its choices on Pakistan cricket’s World Cup performances and act in the sport’s best interests. Currently, the PCB is urging supporters, players from the past, and interested parties to unite with the team in their quest for a victorious return in the major event.

PCB set to back Babar Azam and players

Pakistan has to win these four games in order to have a chance of making it to the knockout rounds. In order to stand an opportunity of moving on to the next round, the team must win three of those games. It’s also a good move on the part of the PCB to support team management and captain Babar Azam.

The onus now shifts on the players to return the supporters’ and board’s faith. The group is talented and capable of doing well in the next games. They still have a chance to go to the knockout round if they perform up to par.

The board has shifted all the responsibility onto the captain and selector. Surely significant changes in the team are expected after the World Cup. However we also want changes in the board. Many corrupt individuals are seated there.
