India is currently taking on England in a crucial semi-final encounter of the 20-20 World Cup 2022. The two teams are looking to seal the final spot in the finals after Pakistan defeated New Zealand in the first semi-final on Wednesday.

England won the toss and decided to bat first at the Adelaide Oval. Jos Buttler made a wise decision by putting pressure on India early on. Both openers, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma, cheaply. However, the more notable dismissal was of the Indian captain.

Rohit has not had the best run in the mega event so far. He did score a half-century in the tournament but has struggled for the most part. He was looking to redeem himself in this match but only managed to score 27 runs in 28 balls, with four boundaries in his innings.

The Indian captain was dismissed in the ninth over of the game for a team score of 56. He played a few clean shots but had a scratchy innings overall. He looked to launch the ball over wide long-on after receiving it full. With the long straight boundaries of the Adelaide Oval, this is not the best option. He also messed up the timing, giving him no chance. Curran charged forward and completed a beautiful catch.

India lost in form Suryakymar Yadav (14 runs in 10 balls) shortly after, which put the Men in Blue under pressure. However, Virat Kohli tried to release some pressure, while Hardik Pandya tried to get some quick runs.

In the meantime, Twitter was extremely upset with the Indian skipper for failing to perform at the crucial stage in the tournament. Many expressed their concern regarding his form, while others hoped for a quick comeback. “Suryakumar Yadav is batting like AB de Villiers but why Rohit Sharma is batting like Temba Bavuma in this T20I World Cup 2022,” a fan wrote.

Here is how Twitter reacted to Rohit Sharma’s innings
