India continued their dominance over Australia in the ongoing Test series, as they secured a comfortable 6-wicket victory in the second Test played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The win saw India go 2-0 up in the four-match series, and firmly establish their grip on the series.
The match began with Australia winning the toss and electing to bat first. The visitors managed to put up a total of 263 in their first innings, with Usman Khawaja and Peter Handscomb being the top scorers. Mohammed Shami and Ravichandran Ashwin picked up four and three wickets respectively, to keep the Australian batsmen in check.
In reply, India put up a strong fight, but were all out for 262, just one run shy of Australia’s total. Axar Patel was the top scorer for India, making a valuable 74, while Virat Kohli chipped in with 44. Nathan Lyon was the pick of the Australian bowlers, taking five wickets in the second innings.
In their second innings, Australia’s batting line-up crumbled under pressure, as they were bowled out for a paltry 113. Travis Head top-scored for Australia with 43, while Ravindra Jadeja took a remarkable seven wickets, bowling with exceptional accuracy and control.
Chasing a target of 114, India got off to a shaky start, losing both their openers early. However, Rohit Sharma’s quick-fire 31 and Cheteshwar Pujara’s steady knock of 31 not out saw India home with ease, with six wickets in hand.
Jadeja was declared the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance in the third innings, where he picked up seven wickets and completely decimated the Australian batting line-up.
With this win, India has taken a 2-0 lead in the series, and firmly established their dominance over Australia. The series now moves on to the third Test, where India will look to maintain their winning momentum and close out the series, while Australia will look to bounce back and keep their hopes alive.
India’s comprehensive victory in the second Test is a testament to their all-round strength and depth, with excellent performances coming from both the batsmen and bowlers. The win has put India in a strong position in the series, and they will be looking to build on this momentum as they head into the next match.

What was the point of staying back in Australia and practising spin when you just come here and throw wickets to spinners through pathetic shot selection?#INDvAUS
