In a thrilling encounter at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Bangalore, and Delhi clashed in a Women’s Premier League match. Bangalore, who had a star-studded team, were yet to register a win in the tournament, having lost all of their four matches so far. However, they put up a good show in the first inning, posting a challenging total of 150/4, thanks to Ellyse Perry’s half-century and Richa Ghosh’s blitzkrieg innings.

Shikha Pandey was the pick of the bowlers for Delhi, taking three wickets in four overs. However, the target was not an insurmountable one for Delhi, and they chased it down with two balls to spare. Alice Capsey provided a good start for Delhi, making 38 in just 24 balls. But it was Marizanne Kapp and Jess Jonassen who remained unbeaten and steered their team to a crucial win.

This win was a significant one for Delhi, as it moved them to the second spot in the table with four wins in five matches. On the other hand, Bangalore continued their dismal run in the tournament, having lost all of their five matches so far.

The match saw some brilliant performances from both sides. Ellyse Perry’s half-century was a treat to watch, and Richa Ghosh’s innings was crucial in helping Bangalore post a challenging total. Shikha Pandey’s bowling was top-notch, and her three wickets helped Delhi restrict Bangalore to a manageable total. Alice Capsey’s quickfire innings gave Delhi the start they needed, while Marizanne Kapp and Jess Jonassen’s unbeaten partnership ensured that Delhi emerged victorious.

Overall, it was a great game of cricket that had all the elements of a classic encounter. While Bangalore would be disappointed with yet another loss, Delhi would be pleased with their performance and look to carry the momentum forward in the tournament.
