Rohit Sharma, regarded as one of the best batters in the world, is back in charge of the Indian team for the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. Many spectators gathered to watch the Indian team practise before the assignment’s first game in Assam.
Even the India captain had the chance to speak with a few fans, but things took a turn for the worse when a fan broke down in tears after meeting the star Indian cricketer. However, Rohit displayed a big heart and moved closer to the crying fan.
He confronted the young fan, who couldn’t control his emotions at meeting Hitman. Rohit confronted him and asked him, “Rone ki kya baat hai? (Why is there a need to cry?)”. He then spoke to the child and made him smile. The golden moment was captured on a video and has gone viral since.

An injury has kept Rohit out of action since the ODI series against Bangladesh in December of last year. He had missed both the two-match Test series against Bangladesh and the entire T20I series against Sri Lanka. However, the skipper will be hoping to be at his best when he returns to the field in the ODIs against Sri Lanka.
Rohit spoke about a variety of topics, including his T20I future, at a press conference on the eve of the first ODI. The veteran batter confirmed that he has no plans to leave the game’s shortest format anytime soon.
“We have only six T20Is, three are over. So we’ll manage, you know to look after those boys till IPL. Then we’ll see what happens after the IPL. But certainly, I’ve not decided to give up the format,” Rohit said in the press conference.
The opening batter also stated that the focus for him and the team right now is the ODI World Cup, which will be held at the end of this year. “At the moment I think it was made clear in the past that it’s a 50-over World Cup year for us. And for some of the guys it’s not possible to play all formats,” Rohit said.
