On March 9, leg-spinner Rahul Chahar married his fiance Ishani, a fashion designer by profession. The duo got engaged in 2019 and tied the knot in a destination wedding in Goa. Rahul and Ishani have been dating each other since their teenage days. As per a report, the reception ceremony will be held on March 12.
The wedding happened with little more than two weeks left in the 15th season of the Indian T20 League in Maharashtra.
The tournament will start on March 26. Notably, Chahar is not is the first player to get married this month. Australia and Bangalore player Glenn Maxwell is set to tie the knot this month. This is the reason Maxwell has decided to miss the ongoing multi-format series against Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Chahar shared the pictures of the event on his official Instagram account. Within minutes, the pictures went viral on social media. Earlier on March 9, the leg-spinner shared the pictures of the Haldi ceremony, where his cousin Deepak Chahar was also present. Notably, Deepak is recovering from a hamstring injury, which he picked the last month. He might miss the first few games in the Indian T20 League.
The Chahar brothers are set to face each other as rivals in the upcoming season of the ITL. Rahul has been signed by Punjab for INR 5.25 crores. On the other hand, Deepak was bought back by Chennai at a huge amount of 14 crores. Both teams will play each other twice, on April 17 and May 15.
