Marnus Labuschagne, the right-handed batter, was at his best on the first day of the first Test against the West Indies, scoring his eighth Test century. His unbeaten 154-ball knock helped Australia end Day 1 at 293/2, putting the hosts in control in Perth. Labuschagne is known for his jittery batting stance and for making hilarious comments that leave everyone in splits.
One such incident occurred during the first delivery of West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder’s final over of the day. The ball swung back too late and snuck away from the deck. Labuschagne was forced to play at it, and the ball was dangerously close to the outside edge.
As the ball beat his outside edge, Marnus ended up saying: “Oh Jason, that’s a delicious ball.” This comment left the commentators in splits.

Labuschagne hit an unbeaten 154, while Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith both hit 50s in a dominant performance. On Wednesday, Australia took command of the first Test against the West Indies at Perth Stadium.
Following captain Pat Cummins’ decision to bat in hot and dry conditions, the hosts reached an ominous 293-2 at stumps on day one. The total was built on a 142-run stand between Labuschagne and Khawaja, who came together after David Warner was out for five, and Smith’s unbeaten 142.
With the in-form Smith unbeaten on 59 and a focused Labuschagne bringing up his eighth century in his 29th Test, the omens are not good for the visitors, who have failed to win a Test in Australia for 25 years.
The Kangaroos continued from where they left off on day two. Smith and Labuschangne partnered up to survive the first session of the day. The latter went past a double hundred, while the former scored yet another hundred.
At the time of writing this article, Australia has a score of 402/2 runs in 118 overs. Labuschagne is unbeaten 204 runs in 349 balls, while Smith has scored 114 in 198 balls.
