The Indian team however could not start off well against the target and were languishing at 31/4 at one point in time. This was when Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli took charge of the run chase and showcased a masterclass partnership to take India to a historic win.
Virat Kohli emerged as the hero of the match with his sensational knock of 82 off of 53 deliveries and gave billions of people an early Diwali.
