Australian legend Matthew Hayden is currently working as a mentor of the Pakistan cricket team. The former Australian batter has brought about a light-hearted approach to cricket coaching. A couple of days ago, Hayden hosted the Pakistan team for dinner at his home in Australia.
In another video that is doing the rounds of the internet, the southpaw is seen indulging in another light-hearted activity with two Pakistan players. The video shows Hayden issuing a challenge to pace bowlers Naseem Shah and Mohammed Waseem. The Pakistan mentor offered $100 to each bowler if they were able to throw a ball over the top of the stadium.
The activity took place at The Gabba stadium, which has one of the biggest boundaries in the world. The ground stretches 170.6 meters from one side to the other which makes the stadium a huge task to clear for any batter. As for Waseem, clearing the stadium proved to be an impossible job for him too as he was unable to do that on his first try. As soon as Waseem failed the task, Shah appeared to mock him and Hayden joined in on the fun as well.
Here’s the video:

A jovial Hayden appeared to say, “It is not about the power. It is about the brain.”
Pakistan have come to the 20-20 World Cup on the back of a tri-series win in New Zealand which featured Bangladesh as well. They have so far played a warm-up game against England ahead of their World Cup opener against India. They however lost to a strong England side in their warm-up match.
Pakistan and India will clash on October 23rd at Melbourne Cricket Ground adding another chapter to their rivalry. The match however is in danger of being washed out as the weather forecast shows a strong chance of rain in Melbourne leading to the match and on Sunday as well.
