Watch: Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith bat one behind the other in practice session ahead of 3rd Test vs Australia in Indore

The third Test of the BGT was supposed to be played in Dharamshala, but, was shifted to Indore.

Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne's weird strategy

India has taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) Test series winning the first two of the four Tests of the series. They dominated Australia in the first Test in Nagpur as the hosts won by a massive margin of an innings and 132 runs. They furthered their record with a 6-wicket win in the second Test in Delhi. The two teams will next face each other in Indore for Test 3 while the final showdown of the series will be held in Ahmedabad.

The third test is set to begin Wednesday, as such, several videos from the training sessions are grabbing attention online. One among them shows Australia batters Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith batting one behind the other. Notably, the duo did the same in training sessions earlier in the series.

Here’s a video of the same:

Steve Smith inspected the pitch in Indore

There has been a lot of talk about the pitches throughout the series, especially before the first test in Nagpur. Australia’s interim captain, Steve Smith has now been spotted in Indore inspecting the pitch during a practice session. Notably, Smith will be taking over as the captain for the visitors filling in for the regular captain Pat Cummins who had to fly back home to attend to an ‘emergency family sickness.’

The upcoming Indore Test against Australia would be particularly important for the hosts. The ongoing BGT series is India’s last chance to qualify for the final of the Global Test Championships to be played at the Oval between 18 and 23 June. They can qualify if they beat the Aussies 3-0 or 3-1 at least. As such, the third BGT Test could be the one to cement their chances. Moreover, India are also on the hunt for a third-straight Test series victory against the Kangaroos, having won the last two BGT Test series in Australia.
