‘Initially, Jadeja was a pathetic bowler, even Chahal is horrible’ – Former Pakistan spinner targets India spin duo in surprising attack

Ravindra Jadeja has bagged two back to back player of the match awards in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series.

Chahal and Jadeja attacked by ex Pakistan spinner

India has produced some spin greats over the years. From Anil Kumble to the recent spin ace, Ravichandran Ashwin, finding expert turners of the cricket ball has never been a problem for India. In the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) Test series, spin has been India’s most effective weapon against the visiting Australian batters. The spin attack is spearheaded by India’s most trusted spin duo in Tests, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja.

The two ‘Ravis’ of the Indian team have so far shared 31 wickets of the possible 40 in the first two Tests of the BGT. That speaks volumes about how expert Indian spinners are at turning the ball when and where it matters. Amidst all of it, a former Pakistan spinner dropped a few surprising comments that took the Indian spinners by surprise. According to Adbur Rehman, Jadeja, and Yuzvendra Chahal are ‘pathetic’ and ‘horrible’ spinners.

‘You can hit him easily, no force in his deliveries’ – Ex-Pakistan spinner Abdur Rehman

Speaking on a Podcast hosted on YouTube, Abdur Rehman said, “Jadeja jab shuru mein aya tha woh fariq spinner tha (When Jadeja had started his career, he was a pathetic bowler). Under MS Dhoni’s captaincy, he was prepared in such a way that he is now a No.1 bowler. Chahal is also a horrible bowler. You can hit him easily. There is no force in his deliveries and cannot spin the ball much. Lambe race ka ghoda nehi hai.”

Ravindra Jadeja has been in action in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) series. He is expected to preserve his place in the Playing XI for the upcoming Test in Indore. He is in contention to become the player of the series having bagged two back-to-back man of the match awards in the first two Tests against Australia. Yuzvendra Chahal, on the other hand, was in action in the limited-overs series against New Zealand and Sri Lanka at home. He has been named in the ODI squad for the series against Australia, to be played after the conclusion of the Test series. He is expected to make his comeback after a brief break from Cricket.
