During the third ODI between South Africa and India in Paarl, KL Rahul and Keshav Maharaj had a hilarious talk. The latter came out to bat when the Proteas lost six wickets for 177 runs in 33.2 overs, chasing 297. When Maharaj arrived, the disk jockey played ‘Ram Siya Ram’ song from the movie Adipurush.

Rahul, who was keeping the wickets right behind the stumps, mentioned that whenever Maharaj comes out, they play this song.

Talking about the game, the home team won the toss and elected to bowl first. After losing two wickets for 49 runs, Sanju Samson’s maiden ODI hundred, Tilak Varma’s maiden fifty, and Rinku Singh’s cameo helped the team reach 296/8. In reply, the Green Brigade was going well with 161/3. However, they kept losing wickets from here on and were bowled out for 218, losing by 78 runs.

Will switch back to focusing on the Test series: KL Rahul

After the white-ball games, both teams will play a two-match Test series. The Asian side is yet to win a Test series in South Africa. Talking about the ODI series win, Rahul said that he will celebrate with the boys before shifting his focus to red-ball cricket.

“Love being around the boys, that’s how it’s been since I came over to South Africa after some time away following a disappointing World Cup final. Pleased for Sanju, he’s been a phenomenal performer in the IPL over the years. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to give him the chance at No. 3, because obviously there are stalwarts in the ODIs who occupy those key spots. Glad he was able to grab his chances here. Will celebrate with the boys and then switch back to focusing on the Test series in a day or two,” Rahul said in the post-match.
