Prior to India’s 2023 World Cup game versus Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium, Virat Kohli practised his bowling. While Kohli bowled on the practise pitch, Jasprit Bumrah, the elite fast bowler, served as the umpire.
Ahead of the India vs. Sri Lanka game, Bumrah as well as Kohli were spotted bowling together right before the toss. Kohli attempted to do the same, but Bumrah nailed his yorkers. A brief video from the practise session, in which Kohli delivered a delivery and asked umpire Bumrah to call it a wide, has gone popular on social media. A well-known X user posted the video and wrote on her account, “Lmao, Bumrah gave it as a wide.”
Kohli and Bumrah have been friends for a very long time. During a World Cup warm-up, the famous Indian batter had been observed copying Bumrah’s celebration and bowling technique.
India and Sri Lanka are currently playing their seventh league game of the 2023 World Cup in Mumbai. Thus far in the campaign, the Indian team has emerged victorious from all six of its games. They can guarantee their spot in the semifinals with a victory over Sri Lanka during today’s game.
