During the match, Kohli let off his more casual side during a moment that split the crowd and embodied the spirit of friendship in cricket.

In a touching demonstration of good sportsmanship, Kohli’s reliable teammate Shubman Gill came to see how he was doing. He had no idea that Kohli, the playful man at heart, had a special treat planned for him when he knelt to check on him. Kohli gave Shubman Gill a friendly whack on the groyne using the edge of his bat in an impromptu moment.

Shubman was caught off guard by the contact and felt a brief sting before slumping over in pain. But the little cricketer’s tenacity was evident as he smiled, spread out, and offered Kohli a hearty fist bump in response to the former Indian skipper’s mischievous antics.

Virat Kohli as well as Shubman Gill had a kind exchange that went popular on social media very fast. Cricket fans from all around the world were unable to resist sharing and savouring this humorous moment. Such incidents provided a window into the personalities of their favourite players.

Gill and Kohli fail to convert starts into hundreds

Gill and Kohli had to get together quickly, and they both displayed their batting skills. India’s position was stabilised by Kohli and Gill after Rohit Sharma was lost early in the innings. They were able to score 60 runs during the first powerplay by maintaining a consistent run flow.

Both of them had an extraordinary partnership of over 170 runs and were looking set to complete their centuries. However, the good form of Dilshan Madushanka continued as he removed the two set batters. Shubman Gill was removed for a well deserved 92, while Virat Kohli got out at 88.
