While Pakistan are facing criticism for their poor outing against England in the three-match Test series, the former legends of Pakistan are trying their hand at the sport in the Mega Stars League, a domestic T10 league, much to the relief of the Pakistani fans who were otherwise carried away by the humiliation post the whitewash by the English team.
During the match between Islamabad Royals and Karachi Knights played on December 20, Tuesday, when the latter were chasing a target of 124 in 10 overs, Inzamam-ul-Haq, the former Pakistani cricketer, turned back the clock as he smashed 29 runs off 14 balls comprising six boundaries. Despite heroics from Inzamam and Tariq Mehmood who scored 35 off just 11, the Knights fell short of the target by 2 runs.
It was a tough ask for the team as their opponents, the Royals, toyed with the Knights bowlers, managing to put on a massive total on the board at the end of the first innings. Sudais Ulfat stood up for the Royals with his 9-ball 30 before walking off the field, to help them cross the 100-run mark.

Babar Azam hits back at Ramiz Raja
Anguished by the loss, the media and the fans left no stone unturned to slam the skipper Babar Azam for making questionable decisions right throughout the match, while the experts felt that their voices were ignored completely for the entirety of the series. Post the conclusion of the Third test that England won by 8 wickets, the Pakistani captain opened up on the loss and said that the team cannot please anyone.
“The door is not shut for anyone. There is a set plan for everything and we have it for every format. You can’t change things in a day or week. It takes time. For mindset to change, it takes time. Then, if we start playing defensively, journalists will ask why we don’t play aggressively and when we play aggressively, they ask why we don’t play the other way. There will always be questions, you can’t please everyone. Ultimately what matters is results. If results don’t come then questions will be raised no matter what we do,” Babar was quoted as saying post the conclusion of the match.
