Amid the high expectation around the match, there’s a huge rain threat looming large on the biggest game of the 20-20 World Cup. Melbourne’s weather forecast for October 23 predicts significant rainfall for the city. The likelihood of rain on October 23 is up to 70%. A wet period is going to hit the state of Victoria and is predicted to begin on Thursday. Disappointingly, there is a good chance that the weather will cause the game to be shortened or even abandoned.

Meanwhile, India and Pakistan have begun their 20-20 World Cup campaigns on Monday with their first warm-up games against Australia and England respectively. India managed to beat Australia by six runs in the final-over thriller. On the hand, England hammered Pakistan by six wickets with 26 balls to spare. They chased down the target of 161, courtesy of Harry Brook’s stupendous knock of 45 off 24 balls.

India have the upper hand over Pakistan in 20-20 World Cup clashes where they’ve won five matches and lost just one. The only loss came in the last year’s edition of the tournament which was also Pakistan’s first-ever victory against India in the 29-year-long history of World Cup matches between the two sides. The two teams last met in the Asia Cup in September. Both teams ended up winning one match each.
