In a remarkable display of power-hitting, Andhra Pradesh opener Vamshhi Krrishna etched his name in history by hitting six sixes in an over during the ongoing Col. CK Nayudu Trophy. Facing Railways leg-spinner Damandeep Singh, Krrishna showcased his aggressive batting style, scoring a quickfire 110 runs in just 64 balls.

The sequence of sixes was nothing short of sensational. On the first ball, Krishna dragged the delivery from outside off stump, executing a powerful slog-sweep to send it sailing for a maximum. Following this, he hit the second ball over the bowler’s head, clearing the boundary effortlessly. Singh attempted to bowl into the wicket on the third ball, but Krrishna dispatched it over mid-wicket for another six. The leg-stump delivery on the fourth ball yielded the same result as Krrishna lofted it over mid-wicket.

Unperturbed, Singh bowled in the same area again on the fifth ball, but this time Krishna elegantly kneeled and dispatched it over deep square leg for yet another six. Displaying versatility, Krrishna concluded the over by going on the back foot to a shortened length, pulling it over mid-wicket for his sixth consecutive six.

Vamshhi Krrishna joins an elite list!

In his innings of 110, Krrishna struck nine boundaries and had an impressive tally of 10 sixes, amassing 96 runs from boundaries alone. Despite the outstanding individual performance, Andhra Pradesh was bowled out for 378.

As the game progressed, Damandeep Singh managed to make an impact, taking a couple of wickets. Railways, powered by double centuries from openers Ansh Yadav (268 runs) and Ravi Singh (258 runs), amassed a colossal total of 865/9. The two openers shared an extraordinary 420-run partnership for the third wicket. Additionally, Anchit Yadav contributed with a century.

Vamshhi Krrishna’s achievement in hitting six sixes in an over puts him on an elite list of Indian cricketers who have accomplished this rare feat. Such displays of power-hitting evoke memories of iconic moments in cricket history, including Ravi Shastri’s feat in 1985 and Yuvraj Singh’s memorable six sixes in an over during the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007. In 2022, Ruturaj Gaikwad also joined this exclusive club, smashing seven sixes in an over during a Vijay Hazare quarter-final clash.
